Which shops do I recommend?
If you are wondering where I go to buy my art materials? Which places are nice to visit to buy materials, art work etc......
A place that is local to me and closest to my heart and that also sells my art work for me is a lovely little place called The Crafty Rummage on Attleborough Green in Nuneaton.
Please have a nosey at this link, like it, join us on face book, share it with your friends most importantly pop in and have a good old rummage! http://www.facebook.com/The.Crafty.Rummage.Nuneaton/info
Another place I pop to fairly often is my local art shop http://www.abbeycraftartworld.co.uk/100290/info.php?p=2 I have never been in and they haven't got what I've needed!
Finally a lovely place to go for art materials, a cuppa, cake and to look at the art on display is a place worth driving the extra distance to in Hinckley http://www.ten2gallery.co.uk/Ten_2_Home.asp

It's a beautiful shop in Freer Street, Attleborough Nuneaton. We sell clothes, We buy clothes, We hire out your clothes for you, We rent space to local artists so that they have a retail outlet that they can call their own, without charging a fortune. Friendly local business, that is all about community and working together.

My second appearance in our local paper in the past 6mths......
Over all I'm really pleased with the progress I have made with my art, it has been tiring I won't lie trying to fit it in and run a business where I am with the children for 44hrs per week, having my own 2 children and 8 more on my books it hasn't been easy especially with the paperwork, deep cleaning etc on top plus the festival of arts to organise, there have been times I've been on the top of my car painting at 7am, times I've been printing certificates late into the night with my husband (thank god for him!) but has it been worth it? Hell Yes! I'm loving it all!!
I think that's about it for now all that's left to say is watch this space as I'm currently working on the Milverton Nursery Mural, I painted a tree and butterflies for them last year and now I am adding more..........pics to follow soon!!!
Keep following!
Mothers day Painting
I painted this to give to my mum for mothers day it says when all at once I saw a host of golden daffodils, beside the lake, beneath the trees, fluttering and dancing in the breeze.........
Just incase you all thought I was being lazy in February..........we were having a family holiday
We took our girls to Florida for our first ever 2 week family holiday, it was amazing, I hadn't relised how much we needed the break and time as a family, it was heaven and we loved every minute as I think you can tell from the picture!
Nuneaton Festival of Arts............
This took place in mid march and it was a brilliant but very busy experience, so many talented people entered!
The Exhibition closes on Sunday so if you haven't already been to see the art on display in Riversley Park Museum & Art Gallery then you need to go this weekend!
The adjudicator came to judge on the 16th March she was a lovely lady called Jhinuk Sarkar, she is an artist living in London, you can see her work on her blog...... http://www.paper-fig.blogspot.co.uk
Jhiunk was a brilliant judge; she looked closely at each piece of work and took into account everything from the tiny details to the frame used!
Jhinuk was very impressed with the exhibition, here is what she had to say about it!
"The quality in the adults section this year has been of a good standard - and there has obviously been considered thought put into the work submitted. I enjoyed looking at the variety of mediums used, the techniques and the enthusiasm to include something from the local environment.
The children's work was very colourful! The vibrancy of the work really showed the efforts involved and I congratulate every young person that submitted work to the festival this year. Keep entering your work to make use of this great opportunity at the museum. I hope you will encourage your family and friends to go and see your work on the gallery walls!
Whilst my decisions to give prizes for certain work were of my own judgement, I hope that all visitors to the exhibitions leave comments stating their own preference of winners, because the festival is all about the community spirit!"

On the 31st March we had the awards presentation for all the winners, there were 13 trophy winners and 156 certificates awarded!
Here is a picture of me with the Mayor at the presentation:
